Andrea & Richard's big day finally arrived for them and boy it was a COLD day. The bridesmaids had blankets at the ready though! We started the day in Portadown, then onto Benburb direction then the Palace Stables (which is always kept so well for photos) and onto the Belmont. It may have been cold but it was a perfect winters day.

Andrea is such a sweet girl and looked stunning. I adored her Ian Stewart gown.

This classic car was perfect, i even had Richard wear the goggles!!

The purple shade & the fairy light backdrop made the room look spectacular.

Claire & Dan - The Dunadry Hotel

This wedding was seriously so laid back and full of love. Claire is such a bubbly girl (you can tell it from the photos can't you?) so warm and kind. I just loved the way Dan looked at Claire throughout the day, he was in awe of her beauty.
I felt so welcome and part of the day, i really hope their future is everything they dream of.

The Dunadry Hotel, it a fab setting and so personal too. The staff are great and you feel like you have the hotel all to yourself.

More than paper.

Photographs are more than paper.
They are needed for advertising, news coverage & to keep a record of memories.

I photograph anything and everything, but i love to create special memories. When my grandad died, i realised how much a photograph meant. I have their wedding album, as good as new and 51 years old. I even have their wedding photography receipt! For Christmas, i made my dad a large framed montage of photograph's of grandad and nanny on their wedding day, with my daddy as a baby, my grandparents with my parents on their wedding day. This present meant more to my dad than anything else i could have gave him.

I quickly loaded these up, i haven't had time to retouch.

Lately i have been photographing so many gorgeous newborn babies, haven't i thee best job?
I do! But newborns are hard work to photograph - lots of feeding, changing of nappies, crying, not sleeping when i want them to, trying to get them into poses that they don't want....but it is worth it when you see these photos. The best time is under 2 weeks, so please book in advance as i am very busy!

This little lady - was wide awake. So bright and alert for being only 12 days or so old.

As you can see she is doted upon by her lovely mummy and daddy! I can't wait to photograph her again and see the change in her.

Louise & Nathan - Pre-shoot

We went along to Carlingford a few days after Christmas...it was a dull day with rain threatening from above.
But it thankfully stayed dry for long enough to take this.

Carlingford is a magical place, i feel like i am a million miles from home, but really i am just a short drive away.

It will not be long till Louise & Nathan tie the knot, a gorgeous happy couple - i just know that their day will be everything they imagine it to be.
A pre-shoot is great, it lets me get to know you both and puts you at ease with having your photograph taken.

Sometimes i do feel that this (photography) is not a job, because i enjoy it so much.
Obviously some weddings are easier than others, many factors contribute to this such as the weather, time of year, or camera shy folk.
This wedding was an easy one - a gorgeous camera friendly couple & amazing details.

{Love} these flowers - wait till you see the floral arch at the church.

WOW shoes & STUNNING dress - reminded me of Pippa's bridesmaid dress - but Lesley picked it way before April.

A dream for photographers, down by the lake it was so windy and cold though, Lesley was brave and bared it for me.

Been so excited to blog this!!!

I've known Victoria (Torzi) since my uni days, we both did photography. We spent many nights together doing our projects but we also spent many hours shopping - this was our favourite past time. She is a wonderful friend that i hope i will have in my life forever. It is hard that she lives in Buxton and i live here in Northern Ireland, but we see each other a few times a year.

Ok enough of that....on to her BIG DAY!!
One word to describe this wedding? I don't think there is one word that could sum this day up.
If you can think of one - please comment...

Gorgeous bridesmaids or what?!
All the wee details...i loved it, i was in phootgrapher's heaven.

And what a handsome groom - the girl did well!

Thornbridge Hall is a TOP venue - the gardens were spectacular, i've never seen gardens so well kept.
Thank goodness the rain stayed away.
Inside was just as gorgeous as outside - it was great to be able to use both.

The girls were spelling out 'TORZI' here - this is Victoria's nickname!

I could not possibly pick 1 favourite image from this wedding.

Hydrangea flowers are my favourite and what i had at my September wedding also.

The dinner was about to be served - this meant my work was done, time to relax with my hubby and have a well deserved G&T.
Oh yes - here is me below - with Torzi.

The speeches were extremely funny and emotional, i guess because i was a friend of the couple i felt it more today than at other weddings.
During the speeches i got given a present for doing the photographs. a beautiful ring - thank-you so much :) x

I wish Mr & Mrs Murcott all the happiness in the world, they deserve it.
Next on my list will be to photograph their baby - what a gorgeous baby that will be!!
But i better steady myself as this won't be for a wee while :) see u both very soon xx

Anisha & Sundip - Whittlebury Hall, England - Indian Wedding

Here it is my first of two English wedding's during September and my first EVER Indian wedding.
I won't deny it was a crazy day with so much going on and so many traditions that i was a little stressed and hot in my heels at times, but it was an amazing experience.

Luckily i knew Anisha & Sundip (Sunny to myself and friends) from my uni days, i lived with Sunny in the same house for a bit as he was friends with Jonny and so i seen Anisha often too! They met at uni and have been together ever since.

Anisha is so beautiful, what a smile.

Before the service started members from Anisha's family stole Sundip's shoes...so you will see his brother above counting money to buy back the shoes.
Tradition is after the service to leave in a vehicle of any kind and to run over a coconut!
This one of them leaving in the golf buggy is one of my fave ones :) I love the movement.

A quick change of clothing before dinner...i think i was the only girl that did not change :( if only i had known, i coulda brought that other dress! But then i would have been late for these photos.... Wow girl, i love the colour!

Such a fabulous & colourful wedding, it was everything i imagined it would be and more.
Before dinner we had wonderful dancing by cousins and friends, a poem, speeches (which i was mentioned in - thank-you!) and first dance before an amazing indian buffet....and then it was time for me to go freshen up, drop camera etc off and dance!

Cannot wait to catch up soon with you two ;) probably will be another wedding or maybe a christening!!

I know i am very behind on my blog - please forgive me!!
I aim to get it up to date with my fave weddings of 2011 asap.

The wedding below is Sara & William's big day from September, they had a fabulous day weather wise. September is getting so popular!
It was very calm and extremely chic. Sara was stunning in her gown.
We started at her family home, then travelled to Armagh for the service. We then headed to Castle Coole before the hotel, this is a great spot for photos for any weather.

Lindsay & Neil - The Culloden Hotel

Lindsay and Neil's day was on the 26th of August - it started as a glorious day, a perfect summer's day but just before their service (also at the hotel) the biggest downpour started. 2011 has for sure been a summer of rain!!

Luckily Lindsay only had to make her way through the hotel, the service was full of emotion and laughter. This pair are a gorgeous couple, who made my job very easy. After the service, they had a champagne fountain for their guests and then the sun came out a little so we made our way through the well maintained hotel gardens.

It was very laid back day and i find when the couple are relaxed with me their photo's are better - i was very pleased with how they turned out - a little sneak peek of the day below - enjoy!

Sharon & Glen - Corick House Hotel

Last week i was at Corick House again, it is going to be my most popular venue this year! It is a gorgeous venue full of character and gorgeous gardens. It was Sharon and Glen's turn for their special day, they got great weather. It was a day full of laughter and a real family day out.

The house was very calm on the morning, a few wee glasses of rose also helped towards any nerves.

Quite relaxed....

Sharon and her girls looked amazing, the colours were so vivid amongst the blooms.

I adored this vintage mini (i want one!!) and it was fantastic for photo's.

The blooms at Corick are beautiful at this time of year.

Sara & Eamon - Four Seasons, Monaghan

Sara & Eamon's special day was on the 9th of July, the chapel was Keady and reception at the lovely Four Season's in Monaghan. It was a very relaxed family wedding. Sara's brother's girlfriend did all the flower's aren't they gorgeous?? See more at the bottom at reception.

I loved Sara's dress, it was unique and really suited her with the warm tones. The bridemaid's also looked fabulous in their chocolate gowns, her youngest sister Catherine was her Chief Bridesmaid which i thought was really sweet.

All the photo's were done at Sara's parent's home in their garden and her aunt's and gran's, the gardens are so well kept.

I was kept on a tight leash for the photo's! Eamon checked his watch frequently...lol...boy i did them at some speed! Nothing like a bit of pressure to make me hurry up :)

Kathryn - Rock the Dress- Belfast Landmarks

Recently i had a competition on Faeebook (which i do regularly...i love to give something back to customers and to creative images that i have buzzing through my head!) - Kathryn won this fab competition! Her lovely hubby came along also and modelled with her and was also my bag carrier! Thanks :)

It was a very exciting shoot with lots of planning - from the date, locations, props & styling!
Kathryn and i were on the same wavelength and both had visually the same ideas which was amazing - It was Kathryn's idea about the Titanic Drawing Offices (further down page) - which she received permission to use. How amazing is the ceiling? Rumour has it that this will be turned into a hotel - WOW! I hope in 5-10 years i will be photographing wedding's here :)

Creative Bridal Shoot

Christine (Christine Patterson Make Up Artist) contacted me a few months back and asked would i be interested in doing a creative shoot with her, of course i said yes! I love doing creative shoots with others - however finding the time is tricky!!
Christine organised everything (wee gem) - the hair dresser (amazing Richard McCloskey) , the dresses from Petticoat Lane Bridal, Hillsborough & the beautiful models!

We did the shoot at Lady Dixon's Park, it threatened to rain (like it does daily!) but thankfully it stayed dry!

Rachel & Stewart - Slieve Donard Hotel

Wedding season is here and it is CRAZY busy!!! But i love my job!
This couple booked me ages ago but it has flew around to their big day, i was really excited as i loved their pre-shoot so i knew they would perform wonderfully in front of the camera once again - which as you see below they did!!

The Slieve Donard is one of my fave spot's! Beach, mountains and gorgeous hotel = happy photographer!

Rachel was stunning, as were the bridesmaids and both yummy mummy's!

The flowers in general were amazing - honestly - i only say this when i really love wedding flowers!!

We took the majority of photos at Kirsty's parents home, a beautiful house with amazing light inside and mature gardens outside, we did these quickly as we wanted to get to the Marquee (lots & lots of natural snaps taken here but too many too post as well as a singing chef!)...so they could mingle and party!

This was a wedding i had been looking forward to for some time and it did not disappoint. Having already did the pre-shoot with Kirsty & Ross last autumn i could feel their love for each other but also see the fun they had together.
Hearing the details for the wedding was very exciting! The marquee was to be at Ross's parents home in Banbridge and the theme was relaxed but chic.

I have had to do TWO posts for this wedding, so many gorgeous preparation images - absolutely amazing bright house to work with - heaven!

I adored all the clothes - the brides, bridesmaids & mothers!!! And LOVED the SHOES! This blog is heaven for me - gorgeous dresses, shoes & cute dogs!!

I went to the Bride's & the Groom's before the service as you can see from the images! It makes for a good change, but is not always possible with timings and locations.

This May wedding happened on a day that was predicted much rain, but horray it stayed dry! My prayers were answered!
Galgorm is a gorgeous venue and when presented with a gorgeous couple this equals lovely images!

Lots of fun with the girl's during the morning and wee Reese (the couple's wee boy) who loved the family cat and got lots of snuggles!
A true princess dress, Tracey was stunning!

Very calm and collected boys before the service in the Phantom House, Dublin boys so lots of craic!

April & May are the prettiest times of year, everything in bloom is fabulous!

I *LOVE* this bridal suite, usually my couple's pick the modern suite at Galgorm - but this one is much better for photo's!!

Rock The Dress - Caroline

Rockin' the Dress - is how i would describe this session rather than 'Trash the Dress' as it is too lovely to trash!

Through Facebook (isn't it wonderful?) is how i met the lovely Caroline, we chatted about ideas and i persuaded her to put on her gorgeous gown again to create some images to cherish at her home place. (oh and see her gorgeous bridal shoes by Gina - what a coincidence that they were the same as my own bridal shoes)

So it was a date, we were both excited and full of ideas, however the day came and i really think it must have been most windy day on record in Northern Ireland!! But we survived and got through it.

With thanks to Sarah-Jayne at 'Vintage Violet', Markethill, who gave us on loan her beautiful fabric bouquets for this shoot!

These vintage car's are her dad's! I was in heaven!
We worked up a thirst and hunger after all this excitement and creativity, once finished we were presented with a yummy display of cupcakes and homemade mars bar scones made by her lovely mummy! mmm not good for my Weight Watchers diet though!

Isla decided to get this for her lovely mum Ruth, as she is getting married next year and thought it would be lovely memory to keep.

I knew i had nothing to worry about with this couple during their wedding day, as during their pre-shoot they were such fun and up for anything they braved the snow for me - i bet you all forget HOW cold last winter was!?

They trusted me and let me lead the way for the photo's which is how i like it!
Returning to The Slieve Donard hotel is always a joy, it is one of my favourite hotels in Northern Ireland, stunning backdrop and lovely light down at the spa.

It was another really warm day, it felt like July rather than April. This couple did not mind one bit about getting barefoot!

Last week i went to this gorgeous new self catering cottage to take some images for their new website and advertising. Jennifer the owner had all the wee touches down to a tee. This is the type of place i love to stay with my hubby and you can even bring your dog along - Guinness would love it!

Pre-Shoots - Why i feel they are important

As a photographer i always recommend having a pre-shoot before the big day for a number of reasons. One being that the couple and i get to know each other better and it puts you at ease in front of the camera, i promise you it is not as bad as you think it will be! By the end of each session, each couple are relaxed and smiling naturally into the camera or maybe even into each others eyes

Obviously i want to create images that represent you both as a couple to show the love, but also the fun side to you both.
A few factors to think of before this session are - Location, Clothes, Maybe have a theme, bring along your dog or have your bridal make-up trial. I want you to be at ease during this session, so wear something that your comfortable and not platforms that you can't walk through fields etc in. If the weather is bad, we can reschedule to another day or if your wedding is fast approaching we can go to my studio in Markethill. However i prefer pre-shoots outdoors and recommend the session be at least 3 months prior to your wedding day. This means you have time to enjoy it and if you want to get a guest book created etc you have time.

What location to pick?
Somewhere that means something - Childhood memories, First Date, Where he proposed...
Somewhere local - A forest, a beach, old ruins, city centre
Think outside the box, help me create images that are different to all my other couples. Northern Ireland is beautiful and we have so much choice!

Creative Shoots

During the past few months i have made a point of scheduling creative and experimental session's into my diary in advance. Working with a few talented girls and amazing hair and make-up team! Stephanie Nelson did the make-up for all these shoots - view her site here.

A few had themes, such as 'Alice in Wonderland', another a more 'Boudoir' feel to it and another we set up at a farm and used our surrounding areas to our advantage.
