Ruth - A little Hero
Last weekend i went to Belfast to met up with Ruth & her lovely parents, i spent the sunny afternoon in their garden getting to know them & taking some photos of the very lovley Ruth!
Ruth has been through alot and is only 10. Ruth was diagnosed with type of bone cancer, Ewings Sarcoma in July 2006. She underwent intensive surgery and chemotherapy treatment. She recovered well however has long-standing mobility problems. Tragically in November 2008 Ruth was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, thought to be as a rare side-effect of chemotherapy. Again she is receiving chemotherapy and has now progressed to the maintenance phase of treatment.
What makes Ruth a Hero?
'I am very brave and courageous!'
Her hardest part of her journey was the surgery, but the best was getting her central line removed! Wow so so brave!!
Shortly as a wee treat, Ruth is going to London and would love to meet Dr Who!
I hope you have a fantastic time! :-)
It was lovely meeting you, keep in touch! xx
Again i am gonna describe a little about this project, for anyone that has not read previous posts...
I recently was accepted as a photographer for the Littlest Heroes Project, a huge honour! I do not charge for these shoots and give the family the photographs free, i do not get paid either, all i ask is to make the family happy and to cherish their special photos!!
Through the power of photography we are giving back and taking a stand for these children who sometimes feel forgotten because of their illnesses.
You cannot book a session by contacting me however - you need to submit a form at http://www.littlestheroesproject.org - and go here for more information.
